Natural Roofs

Every home, addition, or accessory building needs a good roof on it. At Yeoman, we try to use natural and local materials as much as possible. Roofing systems we have used on recent projects include

• Living roof – this replaces the habitat lost by the building footprint, slows runoff, and has a very natural look.
• Cedar shakes – a popular roof which if properly sourced can be highly sustainable and long lasting.
• Slate tiles – quite possibly the worlds best roofing material. Slate is minimally processed natural and available locally here in New England. It can easily last 150- 200 years.
• Metal roofs – another popular option that can be economical, highly functional, and a better option than asphalt shingles.

All roofs require careful and quality installation and thorough attention to critical detail areas.
